Walking around Chattanooga

Okay, so I’m a few days late getting my Beneath Your Feet Photo Challenge submittal out to the public… better late than never, I always say! 😀

Chattanooga certainly lives up to its nickname ” The Scenic City”. Not only does Chattanooga display gorgeous scenic views of the Tennessee river surrounded by beautiful lush green hills (the changing colors in the Fall are equally as beautiful), the art culture is evident throughout the Downtown and North Shore area.

Where else can you find a blue metal Rhino…

a brick piano…

a Dalmation-inspired fire hydrant…

an interactive water fountain surrounded by statues of lions, horses, turtles, and elephants…

a beer bottlecap floor inside Good Dog Restaurant…

and a walking bridge over the Tennessee River that connects Downtown to the North Shore?

Even the sewer lids are artistic!

These are just a few examples of the artistry that can be found walking the streets of Chattanooga.  Wandering the Downtown and North Shore areas of Chattanooga definitely entices the senses – the sights, the sounds, the smells… even the soles of your feet come alive strolling around this groovy little city!

  1. I stayed in Chattanooga once on a meandering back roads road trip in 2003. (Destination Mardi Gras.) It seemed like a cool place but we really didn’t get to see much of the city. Just got a room, slept a few hours, then headed out, so I’m glad to see some cool photos of the place at last. (I heard a rumor it’s the home town of Samuel L. Jackson.)
