Today’s Daily Post’s Daily Prompt asks, “a song comes on the radio, and instantly you’re transported to a different time and place. Which song(s) bring back memories for you and why?”
I love the Allman Brothers ~ Midnight Rider, Melissa, Stormy Monday, Statesboro Blues, Whipping Post, Ramblin’ Man, etc etc… especially the song Jessica. When I lived in Southern California, I would drive up to Santa Barbara (located in Ventura county, about 2 hours north of Los Angeles) to go check out the outdoor arts and crafts market, right on Cabrillo Blvd., right next to the beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches. I would jump in my Mercury Capri convertible, put the top down (I had a license plate frame that read “Happiness is Driving Topless… 😀 ), and put in my Best of The Allman Bros CD. As soon as I got on Pacific Coast Highway, I would throw the ‘vertible into overdrive and blast the volume ~ it was exhilarating! So now, every time I hear “Jessica”, my mind wanders back in time to 1993… a time I so wish I could go back to.
That’s easy riding.

Ah, I had a different vision of topless! Ha. I used to camp at Leo Carillo beach between L.A. and Ventura. Also at the campground near Ventura…Exciting to be in CA in the early 80’s!!!! http://judydykstrabrown.com/2015/07/21/remembering-little-bird/
